GISS Art Show and Literary Evening
We have an exciting week coming up at the library.
First of all, we have a wonderful exhibit of art, courtesy of the students of GISS. Ceramic masks, manga, digital art and more, these pieces are not to be missed! They are at the library in the art display case and in the Program Room until June 24th, from 10:00am to 5:00pm. But that’s not all! If a particular piece speaks to you, you can email email@example.com to either buy the piece or commission the artist.
However, if art isn’t your cup of tea, this Thursday June 12th at 7:30pm, Theatre Alive is presenting a Literary Evening with Patrick Friesen and Eve Joseph. Shortlisted for several prizes, Patrick Friesen has published numerous books of poetry, a book of essays, a play, and co-translations of several Danish poets. His most recent books are Jumping in the Asylum and A Dark Boat. Eve Joseph is the author of two books of poetry, The Startled Heart and The Secret Signature of Things. Her most recent work, In the Slender Margin, explores death from an “insider’s” point of view. Books will be available for sale at the event. Admission is free, but donations in support of Theatre Alive will be accepted.
If you’d like any more information on either of these events, feel free to call us at 250-537-4666 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you here soon!
