The Early Bird
They say the early bird catches the worm, and we’re certainly opening early enough next week – 8am on Thursday – for a joint event with the Chamber of Commerce.
Member Breakfast Mixer – February 26th 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Salt Spring Public Library – “Building Community”
Join us on Thursday, Feb 26th for this member and guest event co-hosted by the SSI Public Library. At this first member mixer of the year, we are meeting with other organizations on Salt Spring Island, both for-profit and non-profit, in a session we are calling “Building Community”. Hear from several leaders about their projects and programs, goals for 2015 and how we can work together to make a better Salt Spring for all. The price is only $10 for members and $15 for non-members and includes coffee, tea and breakfast. Bring business cards for networking before and after the presentations.
Have you wondered how we can work together to create better, cooperative relationships in the community? Hearing the expression that Salt Spring is “controversy surrounded by water” doesn’t do justice for the amazing, talented and creative people we have here. Want to know how we can change this? By getting to know each other, finding out what we have in common, what are our shared goals and what are our resources, we can remove barriers and start doing amazing things together. At this breakfast networking meeting, you will hear short presentations from several organizations and meet local business owners and community members. Let’s form the “coalition of the willing” to help transform Salt Spring Island into the best place to visit, live, work, play…and do business…in Canada.
