Saltspring is a tightly-knit community of communities. It’s a pleasure to see the diversity of events on the island, to see familiar faces in different contexts and get to know so many well rounded island characters.

Teen Knitting Workshop | Fri Feb 27th 1pm-2pm

This Friday join Janet Rothwell to learn the basics of knitting by making your own dish cloth. Learn how to choose yarn and needles, how to cast on, how to knit and how to cast off.

Sign up in advance at the information desk. Space is limited. Program is free and supplies are included.

Bees 101 | Tue March 3rd 6:30 pm

Open to the public by donation bees 101 (an introduction to the life of honey bees) and viewing of the inspirational film Queen of the Sun.

The evening is hosted by Bee Master Wendi Gilson (Black Horse Apiary) and Bee Master David MacDonald (Hives for Haiti) in collaboration with the Salt Spring Island Public Library.

The Gathering: A Presentation of Art Glass on Salt Spring Island | Wed 4th March @ 6pm

Come and discover the creative cousins of the common drinking glass, serving bowl and window pane that are the essence of contemporary art glass. This presentation by local glass artist Bob Leatherbarrow showcases the wide range of techniques used to design and create with glass by highlighting exciting work by Salt Spring glass artists.
