Music and Ebooks and Mags, Oh My!

Updated 2015/03/03

Our library building is beautiful, but sometimes we feel the need to read without having time to visit. This year we added three new services let you get the digital goods wherever you are whenever you like.

  • Freegal for music
  • One Click Digital for ebooks and audio books
  • Zinio for magazines

Find out how you can use these services in Wednesday’s Tech Cafe where our Student Librarian Nicole McCarvill will show you how to use all three.

As Nikky herself says:

Want to learn more about great new online resources that you can access with your library card? Join us in the library for our latest Tech Cafe to learn all about Zinio, Freegal, and OneClick Digital.

Freegal is a free music service from the library. Freegal offers access to about 8 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists, and over 15,000 music videos. In total the collection is comprised of music from over 28,000 labels with music that originates in over 100 countries.

Zinio for Libraries, the world’s largest newsstand, offers full-color, interactive digital magazines. Browse from your library’s collection of popular titles with no holds, no checkout periods, and no limit to the number of magazines you can download. Access to Zinio is available exclusively to library card holders. You can download magazines at home or at the library.

Library cardholders now have free access to 6000 downloadable audiobooks from OneClickdigital at home, in the library, or on the go. Many titles are multi-access, so multiple users can check out a given title at the same time, eliminating holds.

I hope to see many of you there! Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
