Book Club – Into Thin Air | Thursday 25th June 1pm to 3pm
This month’s Book Club text is Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster. Written by Jon Krakauer this 1997 bestseller describes the author’s first hand experience of events leading to the deaths of eight climbers and the stranding of several others by a “rogue storm”.
Free Service Canada Workshop for Seniors | Friday 26th June 12:30 to 3pm
The Seniors’ Wellness Programme and Salt Spring Library are hosting a workshop about Old Age Security, Guaranteed Income Supplement, Canada Pension Plan, Survivor and Death benefit programs and filling out their applications.
Tzena Russell, Citizen Services Specialist will outline services and information of interest to seniors. The workshop will also be of interest to people who assist seniors.

Book Launch: Only Wounded by Patrick Taylor | 5pm July 3rd
A week Friday we are pleased to host an afternoon reading with New York Times and Globe & Mail bestselling author and Salt Spring Island resident, Patrick Taylor.
Dr. Taylor will read from the recently re-released, Only Wounded, short stories about the Irish troubles, which centers on the hopes and despairs of everyday life during The Troubles of Northern Ireland’s not too distant past.
