Join Kate Harris, author of the new travel memoir Lands of Lost Borders, for a wide-ranging conversation about writing, travel, and much more. What compelled BC writer Kate Harris to embark on an epic journey, cycling over ten thousand kilometers of the Silk Road – the ancient network of trade routes linking Asia with the Middle East and Europe? Cycling the Silk Road first in western China and then from Turkey to the Himalayas – and crossing all kinds of borders – Harris’ book weaves adventure and deep reflection with the history of science and exploration. Harris has also written for The Walrus, Canadian Geographic, and The Georgia Review, among other publications. A Rhodes Scholar and Morehead-Cain scholar, she has won several awards for her nonfiction writing. She lives off-grid in a log cabin in Atlin, British Columbia.
