Robert Bateman Centre Pass

Nature Free Family Pass 2018In partnership with Victoria museums, the Salt Spring Public Library is pleased to offer library cardholders the opportunity to borrow passes to the Robert Bateman Centre.

Mr. Bateman, a Salt Spring resident and a nationally acclaimed artist, is known for his realistic and evocative painting style, reflecting his deep understanding and appreciation for nature, as well as for being a spokesman for many conservation issues. He has received numerous honours and awards, including Officer of the Order of Canada.

The pass program allows those who may not otherwise have the resources to access the engaging exhibits at the Centre, located at 470 Belleville, Victoria. Featured exhibits include “Eyes of Society: Art, Traditional Knowledge, and the Watchmen of Haida Gwaii” and “Bateman’s Beginnings”, exploring Bateman’s impressionist past and his long journey into realism, featuring over 20 never-before-seen paintings.

The Salt Spring Public Library has four family passes, admission for 2 adults and up to 4 youths, which can be found at the circulation desk and borrowed by patrons for up to one week.

The Library is proud to support exploring local and Canadian cultures, and offer unique experiences that support lifelong learning. Please note that the Library does not offer holds on museum passes, but patrons may call to check if they are available. Plan ahead for your educational, off-island trip.
