Brian Brett is a Salt Spring Island poet, journalist, editor and novelist. Born in Vancouver, he studied literature at Simon Fraser University before becoming a journalist and critic for numerous local and national publications.
Brian has been writing and publishing since the late 1960s and has worked extensively as an editor. His three-volume memoir is comprised of Uproar’s Your Only Music (2004); Trauma Farm (2009, winner of Writers’ Trust Canadian Non-Fiction Prize); and Tuco (2015).
In 2016, the Writers’ Trust of Canada awarded Brian the Matt Cohen Lifetime Award to honour his body of work.
