The Salt Spring Island Public Library Teen Space is a safe, fun, comfortable, accessible, inclusive space to hang out, meet up with friends, get creative, attend teen events, game or do your homework, right in the heart of Ganges. When we designed this new space specifically for teens, we aimed to create a space you (teens) feel proud to call your own, where you can be yourself; where your needs and interests are reflected by the environment, collection, programs and services available to you through the library. A new collection of fun and funky art supplies and hilarious games are available to you on demand, during all library business hours. A designated Teen Program Coordinator is in-house Tuesday through Saturday to discuss your book requests, event suggestions, post-secondary education plans and homework questions.
Check out our catalogue for the full collection, and come and see our frequently updated Young Adult section. Our offerings might surprise you. If you are looking for something light, dark, funny, chilling, or as individual as you are – check out our book shelves. Our collection of YA Graphic Novels is worth browsing. If you are looking for BIPOC or LGTBQAI2S+ books or specific genres, we have curated lists and would be glad to set you up with what you’re looking for. Ask the Teen Program Coordinator for more information.
Download eBooks and audioBooks through OverDrive. Includes Graphic novels and many of your favourite authors. Want to learn Photoshop or another techy skill? Try LinkedIn Learning. If you’d like to stream content or check out a magazine try OverDrive or Kanopy.
