Volunteering Information

The Salt Spring Island Public Library is staffed partially by volunteers (about 100 of them) with a paid library director, librarian, and other staff and contractors. The neighbours you meet at the circulation desk and the tech desk are backed by volunteers who select, catalogue and shelve the library’s collection, process interlibrary loan requests and perform other tasks that keep the library functioning smoothly.

New volunteers are always needed and encouraged to apply, as there are many different positions available with training provided.
Many of the positions require no previous experience.
