Poetry Open Mic

With featured poet Susan Alexander. Susan’s lyrical poems explore a wide range of human experience from the astonishment of eating a ripe peach to climate anxiety to our relationship with our bodies and with those we love and those we lose. Poet Lorna Crozier has described Susan’s poems as “rich with the details of daily life and the poet’s desire to touch the sacred.” Susan has won multiple awards for her work including the Mitchell Prize and most recently the Vancouver’s City Poems prize. She is the author of two collections of poems, Nothing You Can Carry and The Dance Floor Tilts, Thistledown Press. She lives on Nexwlélexm/Bowen Island, B.C., the unceded territory of the Squamish people.
