Salt Spring Island Circles of Women: Finding Home Within – Sanctuary and Solace During Tumultuous Times is the second collection of stories published by the Salt Spring Island Circles of Women (edited by Aly Coy, Wendy Judith Cutler and Maggie Ramsey).

Maintaining connections and keeping the creative fires alive are hard at the best of times. Finding Home Within reflects on these challenges during the global pandemic. Our collection of memoir, poetry, magical realism and stories shares our vulnerabilities and resilience as we come together to write alone and together.

Laurissa Wieler: Bedtime Stories for Women – Tales and Reminiscences for the Awakened Woman is a collection of short stories and poems, both nonfiction and fiction, based on authentic experiences from the author’s life. A retired teacher of languages, Laurissa travelled widely in search of her own identity as well as for solutions to her sleep dilemma. Through writing, she sought to make meaning of her life’s experiences and in so doing, discovered that just as the quality of our days is based on the quality of our nights, the nature of our nights follows the way we live our days. She found approaching our days through the lens of poetry and humour holds much magic and medicine.
